Wells Gray Provincial Park, B. C., Canada

Helmcken Falls

"Helmcken Falls, British Columbia", ©2010 Elroy Christenson

Helmcken Falls is supposedly three times the height of Niagra  Falls.  The river source  comes off a  high plateau about four hours drive northeast of Vancouver, B. C in Wells Gray Provincial Park.  This region is used in the summer for hiking, camping, and river sports.  During the winter it's a cross -country ski area with groomed trails. The cold weather creates a spectacular ice cone around the splash point of the falls.  .
