Villefranche-sur-Mer is a
picturesque town between Nice and Monaco and
the Italian border. Eze is a town on the high road to Monaco. In the
past Villefranche was an active fishing village which has given way to
much more upscale life style that the Côte d'Azur provides.
Private
yachts and pleasure vessels moor in the harbor. View property has
attracted the rich and famous including the houses of Somerset Maugham
and the Baroness Ephrussi de Rothchild who lived on the opposite side
of the harbor near Cape Ferrat.
Harbor side restaurants still
serve up stunning menus of fish, mussels,
and clams. The beach wraps around the end of the harbors warm blue
waters.
