"The Houses of
Burano" The village of Burano consists of an entire island in the bay that includes Venice. It is very picturesque with colorful houses. It is only accessible from the water usually by a ferry or private launch. It has for centuries been the center of needle lace making. Their craft was used by cardinals and other church leaders for their raiments. There is a lace museum where some of the village women exhibit the techniques and sell some of there crafts.
