Iguassu Falls / Iguaçu Falls

Brazil.Iguassu.72.jpg

"Iguassu Falls at Sunrise" ©2001 photo Elroy Christenson

Iguassu Falls is on the Iguassu River that flows out of inner Brazil. It eventually meets here on the border with Argentina and slightly down river with Paraguay. The photo only takes in a small percentage of the falls which extends to the right for another three-quarters of a kilometer into Argentina. Early morning here is magical. Only the sound of flocks of parrots and toucans breaking the monotonous rumble of tumbling water. Spiders have spun their webs over every open space during the night to catch the mist if not their lunch.
