Beaune is the commercial and wine marketing center for Burgundy. The surrounding hills, up and down the valley, are planted with vineyard after vineyard of red grapes. The chateau of the area dot the landscape and have been maintained and renovated for hundreds of years. The roof design of the above chateau goes back to the early Renaissance.
